If you experience a misconnection on an Air Niugini operated flight, you're in good hands. Air Niugini covers accommodation and main meals for transit passengers at the point of disruption and will book you onto the next available Air Niugini connection at no extra cost.
However, if you're flying into or out of PNG with another airline and miss your connecting Air Niugini flight, responsibility for accommodation, meals, and any missed connection costs falls to either that airline or yourself. For this reason we strongly recommend booking your international legs with Air Niugini where possible, and taking out comprehensive travel insurance that covers flight disruptions regardless of carrier.
Yes, of course. If arriving by air, one of our drivers will be ready and waiting at Kavieng Airport. It is a short 10 minute drive to the harbour where one of our boats will waiting to transfer you the short distance to Nusa Island Retreat.
Air Niugini offers an additional 15kg free baggage allowance specifically for sports equipment, separate from your standard 30kg luggage allowance. This covers surfboards, scuba diving equipment, and golf gear, and applies to both domestic and international flights operated by Air Niugini.
Just keep in mind that anything exceeding the 15kg sports equipment allowance will be charged at their standard excess baggage rate. We'd recommend confirming directly with Air Niugini at the time of booking to ensure your equipment is noted on your reservation. Check out their site HERE.
